NetDev launches first zero CAPEX audio conferencing solution for fixed, mobile and next generation VoIP service providers Print
Thursday, 26 April 2012 08:00

NetDev Limited, today announced the launch of Drum audio conferencing, a wholesale conferencing solution for communication service providers.  Drum is a 100% software solution, with an integrated media server, running entirely on commodity hardware.    Delivered as a software package, Drum conferencing can be downloaded in minutes and simply integrated with existing OSS/BSS via web services APIs.   Drum is unique because it is a zero CAPEX solution hosted by service providers on their own servers.

CEO and NetDev founder, John Logsdon states “Drum audio conferencing is a completely self-contained solution.  We’ve removed the reliance on third party hardware, software and licenses which make most on-premise conferencing solutions cost prohibitive.   Essentially Drum audio conferencing enables any service provider, with voice connectivity, to deliver their own branded conferencing service in an extremely economic way.”

Drum audio conferencing is an IP solution which supports multi-tenancy and can scale to support wholesale or retail channels.    It is the first component to be launched from the Drum collaboration suite, with web conferencing to follow in the coming months.

John Logsdon added, “Drum audio conferencing enables service providers to extend their existing voice services capability and increase traffic with a carrier-grade audio conferencing solution.   When combined with our web conferencing, Drum will deliver a fully integrated collaboration solution for a fraction of the cost of competing services.”

Drum audio conferencing is available now.   Contact   This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for more information or to request evaluation software.

New SIP RESTlet release enables VoIP enhanced Web Apps Print
Wednesday, 30 March 2011 13:10

NetDev Ltd and Noelios Technologies are proud to announce a new release of the RESTlet Framework which supports SIP, the core protocol for Voice Over IP (VoIP) communications.  Noelios are the editors of RESTlet, an open source project offering a Java Framework to develop unified web applications.  The addition of SIP to the Framework opens RESTlet as a converged container for web services and voice communications.  The latest release was sponsored and co-developed by NetDev, a provider of carrier-grade voice applications to global communications service providers.

Founder and CEO of NetDev, John Logsdon, says “together with Noelios we have brought RESTlet into the telecoms world.  We have created an open source, lightweight technology for both HTTP and SIP.  We have ported our applications to the environment successfully and are delighted that we now have another deployment option for our customers.  Whilst we will continue to work with our existing partners, our ability to use SIP RESTlet means we can address new markets more economically.  It has the potential to transform the way we do business”

Jerome Louvel (Joint Founder & CTO) of Noelios added “We are delighted to open RESTlet to the telecom world with NetDev and encourage other companies to join our community.  We want to develop an ecosystem around this foundation as an alternative to traditional, complex and heavier SIP stacks, whilst keeping alignment with internet standards.  Lightweight, simplicity and performance are the key characteristics”

RESTlet Version 2.1 M3, supporting SIP is released today.

NetDev launches Applications Catalogue Print
Monday, 24 January 2011 17:13

NetDev Ltd today announces the launch of the first of its breed Applications Catalogue featuring a selection of carrier grade voice services that can be integrated with Web applications.  The NetDev Applications Catalogue demonstrates how telecommunications service providers can blend the best from IT and Telecoms to create uniquely differentiated value added service applications.

The applications are based on NetDev’s advanced CIE and Application Builder solution, a powerful software platform for creating, launching and managing advanced telecoms services.   Service Providers adopting CIE, not only have the ability to run core voice applications, but can develop their own customisations and niche services by using the NetDev Application Builder Tool and utilising the capabilities of RESTful API’s.

“NetDev’s CIE solution means that rapid service creation and customisation is a reality.  ” said John Logsdon, CEO of NetDev.  He added “the launch of the Applications Catalogue illustrates examples of standard voice services that CSP’s can roll out when they deploy CIE in their network”.

In addition to rapid service creation and provisioning readiness, exposure of NetDev’s RESTful web services API enables simplified application integration with back office OSS/BSS.   The RESTful approach also means the blending of carrier grade voice with web 2.0 applications to create innovative service “mashups” is a reality.

The Applications Catalogue is available for download from NetDev’s website and includes candidate applications for voice and web2.0 mashups.  Download here.
