The JAIN Service Logic Execution Environment (JAIN SLEE) is an open industry standard designed to support the rapid development of portable and robust telecommunications applications as collections of reusable software components.

JAIN SLEE provides a robust, carrier grade environment for the creation of real-time applications, supported by standardised APIs from network resources. The JAIN initiative aims to help create a single, converged telecoms and Internet environment, capable of hosting a variety of value-added services in parallel, maximising return on investment and network efficiencies.

“The JAIN SLEE technology carries clear benefits to global telecom leaders in the drive to quickly deploy revenue-generating services in a multi-national, multi-network infrastructure environment. Operators will see a rapid ROI through the ability to connect varying IT systems and core network infrastructure through a standards-based, carrier grade application server, exposing services through reusable components and Java APIs.”
John Logsdon, CEO, NetDev Ltd.

JAIN SLEE is emerging as the preferred technology to support NGN IN migration and replacement and offers the high-throughput and low latency demanded by carrier applications, allowing graceful evolution from legacy TDM IN solutions to next generation IN replacement and SIP-enabled architectures. A robust JAIN SLEE platform manages network level integration and is a core component of an operator Service Deliver Platform / Framework (SDP / SDF).

“53% of operators surveyed stated that they use JAVA in their applications; 23% stated that they use JAIN SLEE” Moriana IMS and RCS Report, 2009

NetDev has been advocating Jain SLEE for over five years and has worked with some of the world's largest global operators, to deliver truly converged revenue generating services. By complying with the JAIN standard, NetDev’s applications support true convergence of fixed/mobile, voice, data, circuit and packet-switched technologies.  Not only does JAIN SLEE support new applications for IMS and SIP, it simultaneously supports legacy network architectures too.  Functional independence means that the supported applications are completely agnostic to the underlying network, allowing operators to deploy solutions across any infrastructure. This delivers on the “write once, run anywhere” promise of the JAIN initiative.
