Graduate/Junior Engineer

Job Purpose & Duties
NetDev applications sit at the heart of a telephone network and provide the intelligence to route calls based on complex business rules; conference, voice and video calls and provide voice as a resource for web 2.0 "mashups". Examples of applications include Intelligent Routing for global call centres, Voice Conference and Voice Virtual Private Networks. These applications require excellent performance and scaling characteristics and use state of the art in Java Event Driven Applications Servers.

The successful candidate will work as part of a small team, designing and development high-through-put, fault tolerant IN applications for deployment in JAIN SLEE application servers in international telecoms networks.

Previous telecoms experience is not expected, however and ability to quickly pick up new concepts and technologies is essential. The successful candidate will be mentored by NetDev senior developers.

Duties include :

• Design and development of software components
• On-site application integration (UK and overseas)
• Provide in-service support for deployed applications

Technical Skills and Experience

• Excellent hands-on java skills (essential)
• XML technologies (essential)
• J2EE
• VOIP/SIP
• Concurrent programming techniques
• Event drive software architecture
• Linux/Unix
